Happy holidays and best wishes for a fabulous 2019!

Welcome to 2019 – we hope everyone had a stunning holiday break and returns rejuvenated and ready to do great things! The yard is already starting to buzz with activity and we’re looking forward to another busy year of training, lessons, shows and outrides. January is underway . . . so let’s get going! Please review the list of Burlington upcoming shows and make sure your entries are in in good time. Please also remember to enter your show dates in the office book. David had an op on his knee in October, which is much improved, and Anna had a foot op in December – recovering now….we’ll be able to enter you two in a sprinting race soon!

Meantime Tessa Joseph, our dedicated work rider has been keeping the holiday makers’ horses ticking over – other mounts have had a well- deserved December vacation, in synch with their owners – let the fitness programs begin for both!!

Yard round-up

Welcome to our new clients, Zoe Goodman and James Curtin. We wish you a long, happy and successful stay at Burlington!

On the horse front, we have two glamorous and talented new horses in the yard – welcome to Carinja (Casall) and Borrelia Cool (Lord Z), who are making their excited new owners Marozelle Steyn and Tania Siciliano very happy! We also have a talented crop of young horses being produced – young horses being backed at the moment are Branna (Sean Rabitte) and Zapphire (Fiona van Vollenstee), while the aptly-named Steffi Graf (Pam Smith) is coming on beautifully….

Some of the highlights of the last year include Anna’s fabulous third place at Derby 2018 with Alzu Oregon; Chris Clayden jumping her first 1,50m classes on the awesome Capital Chilli Pepper; Carolyn Chelchinskey taking the step up to the 1,40m classes with Midgard Zingaro; Anna winning the 2nd WCQ leg in Shongweni with Alzu Oregon. Several horses have moved successfully up a level, like Bianca da Silva’s lovely Zacana (1,30m), Anna’s Quadix (1,35m), Debbie Last’s Quartezan (1,35m), Sean Rabitte’s Count Cosmo (1,20m) and David’s beautiful stallion, Escapade (1,35m), and Ceres (1,30m)….

Congratulations to the Grobicki family, on the birth of their beautiful little girl, Anna!
